SLES9 Password required to restart
 
Can I disable SLES9 requiring Root password to reboot or shutdown the system? Cann't find anywhere. Thanks!!

You can do this through sudo. You can also map ctrlaltdel in /etc/inittab to
do whatever command you want.

Go to the KDE Control Center, then to System Administration. On the bottom is a button that says "Administrator Mode". Click that and then type the root password. Then click on the "Shutdown" tab. Change "Local:" from "Only Root" to "Everybody".
