Setting up the subversion-server package for use
I am trying to configure Apache as a Subversion server, according to the subversion book. This is the kind of thing that SuSE makes more difficult, because it exposes the poor sysadmin to the limitations and vagaries of the YaST modules defined for the SuSE platform.
OK, I've installed apache2, subversion and subversion-server, so all of the software is there. But the configuration is missing.
I use the "Add Module" button in the YaST2 applet for the HTTP server (Apache) to add mod_dav_svn.so, which does exist. However the HTTP server then sees what packages are required for this, doesn't find the module exists in the list and bombs out!
If anyone has tried to do something like this? It seems a matter of figuring out how to work around the SuSE distribution limitations without getting clobbered.
