Setting up MIDI + Soundfonts in OSS 10 w/ Live!
Hello.
I have just installed SuSE Linux 10 (the OSS version, I believe, included on a LinuxFormat DVD, although it does have some propietary software, e.g. Flash), and have a list of things to get running and fine tuned. One of them is MIDI. My sound card is a Sound Blaster Live! Value, and I am using (I think) ALSA as my sound engine. I would like to have the soundfonts loaded at boot so they will work in all the many MIDI applications SuSE comes with (like vkeybd, seq24, etc....). I've manually loaded the 8 MB soundfont with asfxload and can get KMid to work with a settings change, but other programs will not work with MIDI. If anybody could give me some help with getting this setup and working I would be very happy. Thank you. |
yes, make sure you have a proper back up of your system, because when i attempted to add 'sound fonts' the other day, it totaly corrupted my regular fonts!
good luck. |
