Screen Capture to *.jpg file in Suse Linux

I have Konsole up, and I cat a file out to the window (in my case 'cat /proc/version').

I need to take a snap-shot *.jpg picture of 'cat /proc/version' and submit it through e-mail as homework assignment.

How does one go about creating a *.jpg file with either the entire Suse Linux desktop or with only one Konsole being sent to a *.jpg file.

I searched the documents, and tried the usual help and ctrl right mouse key on the Konsole window, but didn't see any way to export the Konsole contents into a *.jpg file.

Thanks,

Patrick//

There is a screenshot HOWTO at Novells coolsolutions -
here.

Both Gnome and KDE ways have been introduced.

You can allways make a text file of listings like this:
"rpm -qa > list.txt" and copy-paste that text in gimp and save it to jpg.

From X console, you may use import from the ImageMagick package. In KDE, ksnapshot does the job. On a text console, you can cat /dev/vcs1, but this will give text information only (not a jpg file).

Print Screen key

Is there a way to use the 'Print Screen' key to capture the screen shoot to the clipboard like in Windows?
What does the Print Screen key do in Linux?

If you would have clicked the coolsolutions link : Snapshot guide, you would have already the info.

But, yes the printscreen button works the same way than in Windows.

In gnome, push the magic button and gnome will ask you what to do.
In Kde , you'll need to install extra package (kdegraphics ) and you need to run ksnapshot or gimp or ...
