I'm running suse 9.1. it seems that every time my computer writes a big file using SCP to the harddrive it freezes up. It takes a while but eventually it unfreezes itself. I don't think this problem is limited to SCP, but it's when I first noticed it. Any ideas what's causing it?
it doesn't completely freeze up. scp says it stalls, but eventually it picks back up (5 minute wait, maybe?) and the computer is restored to normal functionality. but then maybe a minute to five later, it'll do the same thing again. it doesnt give me any sort of error.
I've just tried sftp, but when I try to get a file, it doesnt even begin the transfer -- it just stays at 0megs downloaded 0:00sec. Eventually, I just control-c it.
Hrrm, you should try your client with a different server to see if you can determine which end is causing the problem. Likewise, try another client with the server. Perhaps the problem can be narrowed down.
