scanner only root

Installed iscan for Epson scanner from Install-DVD.
However only root has acces to the scanner.
Added scanner for users in /etc/group to no avail.
Any ideas?

TNX,

followed the instructions as given in the url.
Added 51-scanner.conf:
# Allow access to Epson 3170 Photo
add usb:vendor=0x04b8,product=0x0116 scanner
Still no user acces.
How to run resmgr?

After you made these changes, did you restart resmgr?

As root, type '/etc/init.d/resmgr restart'

Yes, /etc/init.d/resmgr restart did not solve the problem.
Directory /etc/resmgr.conf.d has 2 files:
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 80 Jun 6 17:36 51-scanner.conf
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 127 May 2 08:43 99-desktop.conf
