Hi all ...
I have a question about burning/converting files, that I have recorded with "kaxtv" under Suse 9.1.
Situation:
I want to record some film-clips shown on TV every night. It´s always an 30 minutes clip of Bob Ross 'Joy of painting'.
I got an 1300 Athlon with 256 MB nvidia graphics card and an Hauppauge WinTV Nova-S card.
First step for solution:
- I got the sources an compiled "kaxtv" Now I can watch TV and I can perform some timer-based recordings. I can choose "MPEG_PS", "MPEG_PES" or "TS".
Problem:
I tried k3b to burn the video-files to a vcd-project (I wanna get rid of those video files - they are for my girlfriend
). But K3b seems not to handle those video-formats.
Question1:
What video-format of the three given upon is the best to record those clips?
Question2:
Do I have to convert those video-files before I can create an "Video-CD-Projekt" with k3b?
When 'yes' - how can I do that? Maybe a command line tool?
Question3:
Is there any other way to record tv from an DVB-S vcard? I tried vdr and Kvdr - but it wants to get the video from "/dev/video0" - I think it only works with other (older?) TV cards.
All I get is an black screen and an /dev/video0 error
I´m not new to linux, but I´m new to that video-stuff
Hope you can help me
Pete
