rpm repository for suse

Hi,
I am new to suse linux, and I would like to learn suse rpm package management system.

My questions are:
1. Where is big rpm repository website with rpm:s for suse?
2. Is it possible to extract rpm:s from suse cd set?

Thanks in advance.

In SuSE, you have YaST for installing rpms from the cd set. Go to Control Center - YaST2 - Software - Install and Remove. Supply the root password. In the Filter box, select 'Package Groups'. You will get a list of all packages on the cds, showing which are installed/not installed, arranged in groups.

Scroll to the bottom of the list, and click on zzzAll to see an alphabetical list of all packages on the cds.

check out http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=43378 to add repositories if you're using 10.1

Some people tend to find the Smart pagage manager the best way to manage packages, there's also synaptic, kyum and yast. Kyum and smart can be found on Guru's rpm repository http://linux01.gwdg.de/~pbleser/rpm-...=/System/smart
http://linux01.gwdg.de/~pbleser/rpm-...t=System/kyum/

afik yast is the only one able to directly access and extract from the cd's or iso's of the cd's.
