Roll your own Live DVD/CD

Any help to links on how to create your OWN lived CD / DVD.

I'd love to have a Live DVD with just applications I run -- most live CD's / DVD's are built for Emergency Recovery / that type of stuff.

I sometimes teach photography a bit so I'd like to have a Live CD / DVD with some specific apps that aren't usually installed on the current LIVE SUSE live DVD and remove about 80% of those that ARE on the DVD.

It's nice to have a few tools of course like GPARTED (not standard in the SUSE distro) but essentially what I would like is

Open Office
The GIMP
KDE (or Gnome - but prefer KDE) desktop
The GIMP
Browser (Konqueror is fine but Mozilla Firefox is also good)
GPARTED
Photo / Scanning software
USB interface
Multimedia (DVD / Movie /Audio playback when booted to a machine with more than 1 DVD device).
MySQL
PHP
VMWARE (maybe)
Apache - teaching students how to set up a Photo MySQL server data base system and web server.
A Few smallish custom applications.

That's basically it. I can build the packages but how do I get this into a "Bootable" Live CD system. I've looked at something like Bart's CD with plugins which is available for Windows systems but I'd like to do something similar for Linux.

Where I get stuck is in the kernel and booting bit. I can handle building the packages.

Any help would be greatly appreciated -- I still want to base the DVD on SUSE 10.2.

Cheers

I've never done what you are asking but check here,

Also, I googled "remastering suse" and came up with a bunch of stuff.

hope this helps...
