ReiserFS 2Gb maximum file size limit? Cannot copy files bigger than 2Gb
Hello!
I have Suse 10.1 which contains 2 partitions: NTFS and ReiserFS. On NTFS i have a *.tib file of 2.4Gb. On ReiserFS partition i have 79.1 Gb of free space. Now when I copy that 2.4Gb file from NTFS => ReiserFS, the copy process stops on 2Gb, and i have a corrupt file on ReiserFS of 2Gb... Here is a screenshot: http://img80.imageshack.us/img80/536/linuxss1.png I have another Suse 10.1 computer, and there the things are going well... It's strange for me because i installed Suse 10.1 on these PCs from the same install DVD. Does anyone have any idea what's wrong? And how can i store big files on ReiserFS on 1'st Suse PC? |
I have ReiserFS and never had any problems with files >2GB.
Try to create manually in the destination directory a big file and see what happens: "cd /whereever; dd if=/dev/zero of=2delete bs=1M count=2500". If this works, your ReiserFS is healthy. If it doesn't see what dmesg says. What do you think? |
Have you looked into your network settings as I mentioned in your original post related to this topic here:
