Reinstall 10.2 and now have partition named Virtual Space...?

Before the partition in question was used to back my /home (its size is 29.5 GB) but since I've reinstalled 10.2 it now has the name mentioned above. My home data is safe but I wondering if its safe to reformat this partition and use it.

It contains what looks like the 10.2 install CD...there's about 8-10 directories (its not my /)...what is it used for? I want to delete/reformat it...safe?

thanks...
