Regularly switching between monitors

Here's my problem: every day I take my portable box to the office, where I have a monitor in situ. This was OK with two similar CRTs, but now I have an LCD at the office that requires quite different settings. Is there a way to save a profile for each monitor, perhaps using SCPM?

cheers

I don't have an answer for you, but this is an interesting problem. I'm curious what answers you receive. SCPM profiles looks like a decent start. Try it and see!

You can have different X configs controlled by different profiles. That's what I do when I want to test something (I still cannot get an external monitor and laptop LCD to display simultaneously) but don't want to break something that already works.

You just need to make sure that xf86 is one of the resourses managed by SCPM.
