Quickly Reactivating NDISwrapper After Log In
 

For anyone that uses NDISwrapper to activate and engage the drivers of WLAN cards, you may have noticed that if you LOG OUT or need to REBOOT your computer, NDISwrapper no longer works upon LOG IN. Earlier I wrote a forum post titled "Ndiswrapper quickfix" to remedy this problem. Now, I have a quicker and easier solution.

After a LOG IN following a REBOOT or LOG OUT:
1) Activate the shell console
2) Type "modprobe ndiswrapper" and press ENTER
This should reactivate NDISwrapper and allow your WLAN card to work.
3) Type "iwconfig" and press ENTER (optional)
This will confirm the network parameters and settings associated with
the WLAN.

Steps 1 and 2 are all you really need to reactivate the WLAN. Step 3 simply displays network parameters and settings. This procedure has been successfully tested on SuSE Pro 9.2.

If you configure your wireless card using YAST and list ndiswrapper as the module, it will be loaded automatically when you boot. This is how I configured mine and it comes up automatically every boot.
