problem with postfix

Hi,

I'm running OpenSuSE 10 on my server, it can recieve e-mail just fine. As far as I can tell it appears to be sending e-mail witout error, but whenever I send a test e-mail to one of my other e-mail accounts it never arrives and there is never a return error.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

First things first and take a look through your mail logs to check to see if the mail was actually sent out correctly; you should find them in /var/log/ (usually maillog or mail.log)

ahh ok thanks,

I see its timing out probably because its using my outside IP to access myself. Thanks for the tip.

Ok, I set the IP from mail.mydomain.com to localhost and now it gives me a few meesages about loopback but seems to be working ok until it gives me "postfix/smtp[8389]: warning: relayhost configuration problem"

Where do you mean you set the IP from mail.mydomain.com to localhost?

It was under the relayhost... looked at an online postfix manual and noticed it said by default its blank, after I commented that line out it worked just fine. I'm all set to go now, thanks.
