There are the opensuse irc-meetings to discuss these matters. Then there are wishlist for opensuse and mailinglists. Please tell the developers what you think .

And you forgot to mention the ZEN-installer, although that's the crappiest of them all. The list is endless ; apt4rpm+synaptics, yum, ...
IMO there are only two working package managers in suse 10.1
1) RPM in command line
2) Gurus unofficial version of SMART
