Play Windows games on SuSE
I want to play my Windows games on SuSE, but I don't own a credit card for buying Cedega. Is there any similar program to Cedega that is free?

Windows games on SUSE
Wine is free and works for some programs. There is also crossoveroffice, but I don't know if it's free after the trial period.
Do you know anyone who has a credit card and would let you reimburse him? |
The simplest way to achieve this is to run a "Windows Virtual Machine" as a guest OS. Vmware workstation is expensive but you can download the server version for free-- a bit more fiddly to get it to work but great product.
(http://www.vmware.com) The Free stuff http://www.vmware.com/products/free_virtualization.html If you don't mind spending a small amount of dosh (around 40 USD) you can get Parallels which will also allow you to run Windows as a guest OS. (http://www.parallels.com) So long as your windows games don't make any direct hardware calls they should run fine on a VM. Note you'll need to Install Windows as a VM so you'll need your original Windows CD's or files. Cheers -K |
