Partitions and home folder appears in two partitions

Hello,
I have several partitions on my hard drive. Windows XP and Vista are on a couple. However, I never use Vista and only rarely use XP for some games and other stuff.

I have my SUSE 10.3 kernel and other stuff on one partition. I have my home folder on a separate partition which is a good setup. Why does my home folder appear in both folder structures. It is the same folder with the same content. Why is it in two locations and in two separate partitions at the same time?

Regards,
Bryce

I would say "/home" on "/" (root partition) is just the mountpoint for home partition. You can try to umount /home and check if you can still see the contents (which also is possible...)
