No, since you don't provide any details. What KIND of 'desktop'? What kind of SATA controller? What's your hardware configuration??

I can tell you that openSUSE 11.3 and 11.4 both work just fine with SATA drives, as I've installed it on several machines with them. The only thing that it could be is a BIOS setting on your machine, setting your drives to some different mode that the installer doesn't like, the drives are disabled in BIOS, or you've got some VERY strange controller that's not supported. It has nothing to do with the hard drive, unless the drive itself is bad.

Hello,

You are right, I'm so sorry. Normally I write so fast and never I checked my post.

Anaway, I use GA-X58A-UD5 as motherboard and WD10EALX-229BA0 as HDD (WDC WD10EALX hdd 1TB SATA3-6Gbps 7200rpm 32MB).

As you say, I am going to check my Bios configuration.

Thank you.

Hello,

I found the problem. In Bios, my SATA port was configurated as port IDE. I have changed to AHCI port and now OpenSuse detect my HDD.

I'm sorry and best regards.
