opensuse 11.3 32bit os stops booting and requests to manually run fsck
I upgraded a dual boot box from opensuse 11.0 to 11.3. I had been running virtualbox with the original install. When I tried to run virtualbox, it said to add vboxusers to the users group. In yast, I did an edit of the existing users group and checked off vboxusers. On reboot, it would stop booting and asked for root password to be left at a recovery prompt. It says that root is ok, but /dev/sda7 contains a file system with errors. I can boot to the desktop if I type in fsck, say no at the warning that the partition is mounted and the system does some checks. I removed vboxusers from the group, but I am not sure if that caused the problem. I read about using fsck and would like to know the proper way to fix the partition. What is the difference between e2fsck and fsck? Would I run 'fsck -f -y /dev/sda7' ?
