I would check in your BIOS to see if there is a setting for 32/64 bit modes or maybe even upgrading the BIOS to newer version if available. Also have you ever had this machine running a 64bit install of any OS??
As I Remember There Is No Option In BIOS To Set 64-bit .
The BIOS Is At The Last Update .
I Also Has Never Install Any 64-bit OS Before .
As I Have Said The Only One I Try To Install 64-bit OS Is With Gentoo , Which Gives Me A Similar Error .
You could try downloading a 3rd distro that was 64bit (something small like a livecd, see http://distrowatch.com/search.php?ca...&status=Active) and if that to won't load then there's certainly something amiss with your hardware.
Or just run a 32bit version as there's not really much of an advantageous running 64bit except in a few cases.
I have some processor, but on a MSI K9NGM mobo
Currently it is running Suse 10.1 X86-64. When I installed 10.1 it would not go with ACPI on in Bios, so I disabled that. This was due to errors in the ACPI of the bios. After updating a newer Bios which was not put on the download page of the support site, but was available from a forum link, I even could enable ACPI in Bios.
The installation automatically installed the 64 bit version. I did not try to install the 32 bit system, did not even see the option to choose when running install. May be it would have been a better choice to go for the 32 bit afterwards, since I still have some problems with 32 bit applications e.g. Opera. Mplayer simply won't show video in Opera, may be because of this mixed configuration of 64 and 32 bit or because of Opera itself
Try to install with ACPI switched off in bios and see what happens.

happens.
As you state your mplayer is 64bit and Opera is 32bit unless you're running the weekly 64bit version (of course then there might be issues with flash, acrobat, and other 32 bit programs though there is a supposed solution http://my.opera.com/community/forums....dml?id=206201). You can with some jiggering force a 32bit mplayer on your 64bit install but iirc it gets messy.
I Have Found A 64-bit Live CD Of Ubuntu , So I Decide To Test It .
It Launched , But When Trying To Install , I Get The Following Error :
" Your CPU Does Not Support Long Mode . Use a 32 Bit Distribution . "
Is There Any Thing Wrong With My Hardware ?
BIOS Or May Be The Processor Itself ?
In Windows It Stated That Is A 64-bit AMD Processor , And Also Say SiSoft sandra .
So , What Could Be Wrong ?
Thank You In Advance .

Hmm are you trying to install it as a dual boot system. You say you get info from Windows.
Are you using Parallels or any other Virtual machine software?
Search for the message you get when trying to install and you find it happens with others as well, but mainly when using Virtual machine software.
With the Athlon 64X2 Dual core Suse should run I think.
What are your bios settings May be try to change the power saving settings in bios may have some effect.
In the x86-64 computer architecture, long mode is the mode where a 64-bit application (or operating system) can access the 64-bit instructions and registers, while 32-bit and 16-bit programs are executed in a compatibility sub-mode.
