I did a clean install but it might work out fine with just an update (the option for this is included during the installation options). I would back-up your data first, then do an update - see how it goes and if none too clever you can always do a clean install.
One thing I did do when installing (same as you with the kde cd) was let the install include the online repositories at the start. This gives the kde cd and about 800mb of extra stuff - which obviously takes awhile to download & install.
10.3 looks pretty much the same as 10.2 - except it has the green theme.
The main differences I think (so far) besides being more updated packages are:-
1) quicker to boot
2) the package manager is much much quicker
3) on yast software there is a new option to include lots of additional sources automatically (packman etc)

I have all additional repos installed-packaman and others.I have updated/upgraded all the packages I installed lately with 10.3RC1. It works, everything so far.
I tried to connect to tu-ilmenau but a login name and pass is reqired now.

well im down with the "quicker to boot"
suse took forever to boot, thought i was booting like 5 vistas.
