Open SUSE 12.4 Sony Pro duo stick not recognized -- SD card is

Hi there
Not really an issue for me but if someone CAN solve it -- I'm running SUSE 12.4 on a Sony Vaio with an integrated SD/MMC and Pro DUO card reader. Computer recognized the SD card --even a Micro sd card inserted into an adapter but doesn't recognize the Pro duo stick.

I'm not going to use these any more but itwould be fine to have this working just for completeness.

Actually the 12.4 release is fine --stable fast and it's only the PRO duo stick that I can't get working.

Cheers

Well, glad it's not an issue for you....because you WON'T get it working, and probably never will.

The Pro-duo stick will work with a USB adapter, but the slot itself uses (probably), a Ricoh chipset, and (thanks to the 'magic gate' DRM on the hardware), doesn't work under Linux AT ALL yet. I've been using Sony laptops for years, going back to openSUSE 9, and Mandriva and Fedora before that, none with any luck. There IS work on reverse-engineering the hardware, but no specs have been released for it at all. At the moment, we're all stuck.
