Only In Gnome -- Audio CD's Consistantly Skip In SUSE 10.0

Note that this is only in GNOME. Everything correctly plays in KDE.
In every single music player I have tried, they simply read CD's they same way. You can barely make out the track due to the skipping.
I have the idea that this is due to the GNOME sound daemon but this is it.

What happens when you change your players audio output from "esd" (a guess) to "alsa" or "oss" depending on which you use?
