hello, I´m from Gov.Valadares-Brazil, I´m using squid on suse 9.1 using authentication and it works ok, but, in windows workstations, my outlook not work, why? someone can help me? what need I do? I tried configuring with iptables but no success.

I'll ask this first. What is the correlation between squid (a web cache proxy server) and outlook (an email program)?? Because I can't think of one! Can anyone else help me with that one?

If you are trying to connect outlook clients to your suse, then you need to connect to a mail transport agent (MTA) to serve them their mail. postfix and qmail are two very nice programs, and have excellent documentation available on their sites.

If you need to open up ports for an email MTA, then run YAST, root password, select 'security & users' and click on 'firewall'. There are about 5 mail settings to open up, depending on your configuration.
