I am a complete n00b when it come to Linux. I am installing Suse 9.3 onto my Dell Laptop. Everything works great, except the display. I have a Intel 915GM graphics chipset. Intel provides linux drivers for this (link). I can install 9.3, reboot, kill x, switch to init 3, then i goto install the rpm. It gives an error about AGPGART and that it couldnt compile b/c of that. lsmod lists AGPGART intel_agp. I am lost, I can only use X with the Video BIOS or Framebuffer driver. At 800x600...the LCD is 1024x768 Any ideas? I am all new to this, and would really like to get these drivers installed. I have also run modprobe agpgart and tried to install as well to no avail. Please help!

Have you instead the the kernel-sources and gcc?

Usually these packages need to be installed before you compile a display driver.
