I have installed OpenSuse 11.0, and have some troubles. I am still new to that OS, so please be patient with me.
1.There is no sound coming out of my machine.
2.when I am logging to yahoo, I am not able to write in Arabic plus there is no voice chatting. Is there any other software enables voice chatting.

Install pidgin with many plugins, ...there are lots of voice-chat applications in suse ...install them

Ok let take it step by step .
Before we can help to get sound we need to know the chip set used in you're sound cart.
A other possibility is to search in opensuse hardware database to see if the chip set of sound card is supported.
We need to know the error messages if any

Ok You need to do what amani suggested..On your menu look for the little black TV looking screen..Thats called a terminal..Open it and type in "su" no quotes..You will be asked for your root password that you used when you installed the system..You should see at the end of the command you entered a # That shows you are a super user..Then type in amani's command
lspci -vv It should look like this somename#lspci -vv Your name will be used instead of what I indicated.. The screen will fill up with text..Look for the audio controller section and copy and paste it in your reply back

That way the guru's can begin to help you..You should also include you linux distro and your system with as much as you know or just copy the whole thing..

The good news is at last the sound came out of my laptop (dunno how), but what does the following info mean? and are there are any troubles with my OpenSuse11.0? because I see "Non fatal". The other thing I wanna ask about are there any software supporting voice chat in linux esp. on Yahoo and Gmail.
