My Computer Icon doesn't work SUSE 10 KDE
Hey, :Pengy:
Windows has been driving me mad recently, so i've finally installed SUSE 10. (The OpenSuse.org free version) Machine spec: Dell Optiplex Gx270 (P4 2.66, 512ram 110gb hd) I installed both Gnome and KDE so i can mess about with each and get a feel for it. Gnome works fine. The problem is when I use KDE the 'My Computer' icon on the desktop won't open. (but right click properties on it works) If i click on the icon, nothing. But when i use Gnome it shows my drives how i hoped. The only other thing i can note is i installed Gnome first, then went back and did an upgrade to get KDE, Apache, PHP and MySql. Can anyone advise on a fix or should I run through the full install again? Any help much appreciated. |
You can install Gnome and KDE in parallel.
Before login in, you can choose between Gnome and KDE. Systemupdate is done via Yast2->Onlineupdate. Both Gnome and KDE patches are supplied. |
My Computer Icon doesn't work
Maybe i wasn't clear.
The "My Computer" Icon on the desktop won't launch. The problem olny happens when i use KDE. It works fine when i use gnome. Thanks for your help. |
OK.
Just check by right-click on the "my computer"-icon the settings of that icon. I think the icon does not start a application. It should be konqueror-filebrowser. |
After right click, how do I make it show my drives?
I tried 'Open With', but i couldn't see knoquer konqueror-filebrowser. |
OK. i got it!
I just had to enter this in properties URL box. media:/ |
