I have a couple of little quirks that I am hoping can be solved. First, with SUSE 10.1 Beta 9 I can not change virtual desktops using the ctrl+tab key combo. It there a way to set the key combo's in SUSE? Really annoying to me for I constantly use both of my virtual desktops. Second thing. the k-menu alphabetizes the entries, does anyone know how to turn this off? This does not happen in Slackware, so I know that it can be turned off.

You say just ctrl-tab but do you mean to use ctrl-tab-f2 to switch the second virtual desktop?
Never seen an alphabatized kmenu before. So if you use kmenuedit to edit kmenu it changes the oreder after saving the way you want it. If this the case can't really help here.
Actually, the default behavior in KDE sets ctrl+tab to switch between virtual desktops quickly. Ctrl+f2 selects virtual desktop #2, ctrl+f1 selects virtual desktop #1. Using the function keys is a bit more cumbersome and does not work as well when quickly switching between desktops. As for the k-menu, I change things with kmenuedit, put things in the order that I want them in, and they still end up alphabetized, though all changes are kept aside from that (new programs that I have added show up, etc...)

Well i think this is an improvement as I (and many other) use ctrl+tab the change firefox tabs in Windows. This works now in suse the same way. Im very greatful of that!
IMO it was really annoying to change desktop all the time when one wanted to just change browser tab.

I don't think it is default depending on version you have. It may be the default in say 3.3 but maybe not in 3.5. From the 3.5.2 source from KDE that I have installed, the ctrl-tab does nothing on my system. It can be added very easily by going into your Start Menu > Control Panel > Regional & Accessiabilty > Keyboard Shortcuts. Once there you e=want to be in Global Shortcuts. In the Action box you have System > Navigation > Walk Through Desktops. If there is nothing to the right of it then highlight it and then select the Custom box below in the Shortcut for Selected Action section. Then it ask for keystroke. Hold down your ctrl then tab and release. It should then say Ctrl + Tab in the box. Select Apply and try it out.
Thank you for the replies. This will be very usefull information when 10.1 final comes out. I have gone back to 10.0 for now, as I was having too many issues with items in 10.1 beta9.
