minimise windows

SuSE 9.2 Pro.
When I click the dash to minimise the current window it appears to close the program down instead of putting an entry in the taskbar which means I have to restart the program again and i have lost all the work.
How can I get it to minimise to the taskbar again.

What desktop/Windows manager are you using? By your description, sounds like Blackbox, and that's a normal Blackbox behavior (though, it not really closes the window, it minimizes, but not to the task bar)

KDE 3.3
I tried switching to Gnome 2.6 and had no problems with that.

I have found a work around to this problem but not a solution.
Right click Kicker / panel menu / add / special button / windows list.
This allows you to restore any programs on all desktops that have not been closed.

Taskbar loses applications

HI
I'm on Core 3, latest Kernel.
When I minimise my apps to the taskbar I now lose them!!
I can't seem to get them back at all, really strange, and only just started happening
in Gnome.

This bring all my work to a full stop.
Anyone any ideas?

Cheers
Bob
