Microsoft Hardware on Linux

I have a Microsoft Natural Pro keyboard and the Microsoft Trackball Explorer. I am currently running SuSE 9.1... Does anyone have any idea how to get the full functionality of these devices or at least the mouse to work? I am a complete newb, just installed this 6 days ago.

For the trackball, try this, from here:

Try editing /etc/X11/xorg.conf in your Input Device section to look something like this:

code:

Identifier "Mouse1"
Driver "mouse"
Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2"
Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice"
Option "Buttons" "5"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
What is it you want to know about the keyboard?
