memory upgrade

Can anybody assist me with the following problem I have Novell Enterpise desktop 10.1 installed on my machine Now i have upgraded the ram from 512mb to 1Gb but when i fired it up i cannot get it to load into linux it comes back with a video error & drops me to the prompt so i removed the ram and everything is normal so the replaced all the memory but to the same problem. Can anybody please assist

What says your BIOS? Does it see the RAM and are the clocking modes as needed?

Assuming that your machine is designed to accept larger memory capacities, know that some memory modules don't work with just any motherboard / BIOS. Something about chip set compatibilities. In any case, make sure your new memory modules are guaranteed to work with your specific pc / laptop.
