Kmenu occasionally unresponsive in 10.3

After installing the release of 10.3 on top of 10.3beta, I occasionally experience unresponsiveness. The little lizard turns orange and no kmenue pops up. After while things return to normal. I can execute apps from the desktop at any time without problems.

Every day, there is a cron job run called beagle-crawl-system and it does just what the name implies, slows your system to a crawl. While this program is indexing your hard drive, everything moves slowly. This is the grinding sound your hard disk makes after your first login of the day. After this is done running, your system will run at its normal pace.
