I am trying to get to my pop3 account using Kmail and keep getting this error message:
Unknown host pop.sbcgobal.yahoo.com
I have been reading some of the post concerning pop3 accounts and see that it might have to be enabled somewhere but I haven't been able to find where. Can anyone point me in the right direction. This is my first try at Linux. I have been able to get my network working but I have been having trouble figuring out the email settings.
Thanks, Tim
Ps, I tried to view other messages with this topic using my newly installed firefox browrser but the popup window lacked a scroll bar! So I guess I need to figure that out also!
I did it many times to setup kmail, it was only 3 klicks in the kmail settings and it worked out of the box. usually if it tells you "server wrong" it is most likely that your server address is wrong.....*g
tell me, what you are exactly doing in the kmail settings. perhaps then I can help you...
Hi, while I was working on a reply to your questions I found the problem. I had misspelled the email address!! I was writing down all the info as you suggested when I found it. I feel so foolish because I have been working on this problem on and off all day long. It is the reason I was never able to proof my own papers in college!
Thanks again, without your help I would have never seen my mistake.
