Well if it affects just the one user account, its probably something to do with your settings folder. All settings for user account specifics are usually in hidden folders (which begin with a dot ".").
If someone else doesnt have any suggestion why you'd get this error, I'd suggest renaming your ".kde" folder in your user account home director (/home/yourname/) to something like "kde-backup" then reboot and see what you get.
You will probably loose your settings in your user account but you can either copy them over from your backup or just re-set them.
