Keyboard layout/Volume problem w. PCM (Suse/Novell 10)
When I installed, I accidentally chose UK keyboard layout, when what I wanted was Danish.
I've changede it in KDE, but in Console or other desktops, it is still UK.
I've tried tons of things, and i cant figure it out, eventhough it seems that the resolution is very very simple.
Mp3 play works fine, but whenever I change the track, or the playlist moves to the next track, PCM is reset to zero, muting the music, which is a pain.
It worked fine suddenly, until I booted the system, and now it's back to the resetting.
Im completely new to linux, and I have similar problem. I want to run some 3D sotware on a SUSE 10 distro. What it has to do with this thread? Well, when I try to install a ATI driver with enabled 3D acceleration, after a reboot my keyboard layout is suddenly changed to cyrilic (azbuka). And thats a problem, cause I cant write in cyrilic and the system doesnt responds to my cyrilic passw. So the it becomes unusable and must do a reinstall. I´ve tried just many ways how to instal the driver but everytime it messed up the keyboard layout and done nothing beside that (no 3D enabled). I´ve got the system just messed up all the time...
If you have any idea why the driver always changes my keyboard layout please reply-its very anoying.
Thank you.
(Oh, and I have a Saphire ATI Radeon 9600pro ATLANTIS-dont remember the chip code...)
I´ve tried SAX2 also, in X11 as root, then also as poweruser (su root) then I´ve shut down X and ran SAX2 w/o it. But it always printed some strange messages at the end of config. I´ve ran it exactly as it was described in the driver readme, but it just didnt work.
Thanks anyway. Will try some other distro as well, and hopefully see where the problem is...

For your information many Linux users configure things at the command line and prior versions of SuSE did some configurations with different code in YaST. Now SuSE always uses Sax2 even from YaST. Off course, no one is infallible, even you.
