KDE4 icons stop working after major updates

openSUSE version: 10.3
KDE 4 version: Stable/now v4.0.2

Has anyone noticed that, with every major package update of KDE4 (when it seems like every package in the repository's updated, like the last upgrade from v4.0.1 to v4.0.2), the desktop and panel icons stop working? In other words, you click on them and nothing happens.

You can always rename your old ~/.kde4 directory and let it create a new one, but that's not a terribly good solution, since you have to restore any data saved there (Konqueror bookmarks; KJots books; etc.), as well as all your desktop settings.

If anyone knew of a more "granular" solution (i.e. which exact file(s) to delete out of ~./kde4, or a script to run), it would be of great help.

For me it works fine, and I wonder lots of people are facing some difficulties with the kde4, though its the development version I think you better wait for more stable one.

Anyone who can help this out much appreciation.
