Also, if you can locate 'xfce appfinder' on your system, as well as 'K menu Updater' some combination of these will help restore your menu & button.
1 - In a console, type 'kmenuedit' to get the menu-building tool.
2 - K Menu is an applet. Try right-clicking the taskbar ---> Add Applet/Application to panel ---> "K Menu"
And this should do it!
Thank you for your reply Niņa Toronja
. Well, I've actually tried all of the options when I right click on the menu, but there's no options to add or recover the K menu. The "K" is just not there anymore. I was able to add an applet which is called SUSE MENU, but is not the same. It lack some of the basic functions like Closing Session and Turning off the machine. By the way, since I don't have those options, the only way for me to turn off the computer is by pressing the power button every time, getting the "BROADCAST ALERT FOR HALT..." or whatever, and when that happens, there's an error message that shows for a brief moment that says that kpowersave is not running and then it just turns off (in a very short time) so I'm guessing the application are not properly closing when that happens, which might lead to some serious issues later.
I've tried kmenuedit as you suggest, but there are no options to get it back on the task bar......
.........nevermind, scratch all that........
I can't believe I hadn't noticed this. I tried the last suggestion you gave me, to Add Applet/Application to panel ---> "K Menu" and there it is!!!!
I also got my clock back and the task bar back
I feel kinda stupid for not realizing this myself before, but I want to thank you with all my heart for you advice. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.
