kde does not load

I am having Opensuse 11. While changing user from root to normal user, out of curiosity, I changed session type from kde to metacity but logout was unsuccessful. Now kde does not load at startup. Failsafe does start, but I want to know exact steps to restore kde desktop

Did you still get a in log screen ?
If you do not get a in log screen type in the failsafe mode startx
If it start the xserver created a new user and set the login type for old and new user on noauto login
This will gives you a login screen and you can choice the session type
all the best

thanks a lot, I got kde back.
I used slightly different method as follows
Started suse normally. When blank screen appeared, I pressed ctrl+alt+F3 to start text mode. Logged as root, started startx to get x server. Through yast I disabled autologin. Then I rebooted the computer. When login screen appeared, I changed session type from metacity to kde. Now everything is fine. Now I am going to enable autologin just for convenience.
