kde 3.5 missing from apt on suse 10.0

hi folks. i've looked everywhere i can think of and i can't sort this one out. some time ago i was running suse 10.0 and had upgraded kde to 3.5 via apt/synaptic with no problems. since then i tried out suse 10.1 and found the myriad problems weren't worth the effort so i went back to 10.0 and installed apt via the apt4suse rpm and i can no longer find kde 3.5 and i can't find any repository to get it from. i tried adding the yast repo and got dependency problems - some of which are seemingly unsolvable. i can find most of the stuff in synaptic but not all. the main sticker being 'libdb-4.1.so'. searching rpm sites brought nothing newer than a '9.3 version. last time i did this, i installed apt4suse and everything else the same way and the 3.5 stuff magically appeared and now its nowhere to be found. anyone know what happed to the repo or where to find it?

Hello rickbot
The repos addresses for KDE updates/upgrades have changed.
See this thread where the same issue is discussed.
The same is true for SUSE 9.3, 10.0 .
But the necessary new version of Apt doesn't seem to work yet with these repomd format repos.
So it may be time for you to switch your package manager to Smart, which works well with these repos.
Look for other threads about installing and using Smart.
You will be better off with it.

ok, installed smart, updated channels... no kde. i opened the channel text file and changed disabled = yes to disabled = no, and... no kde. i'm really not liking this gui either. synaptic had the 'status' menu to show not installed or upgradable packages in separate lists to make everything simple. so far this thing is looking half-done and half-missing in comparison. the old apt/synaptic worked - perfectly. there was no need to screw it up. maybe i'm missing something though, other people seem to have upgraded with no problems using smart so there must be a way. anyone know a good place to find a how-to etc.? in a week of searching, i'm still hitting walls. this is getting rediculous.
