KDE 3.4 Login Manger Not Working

When using the Login Manager nothing I seem to change stays except the logo, I believe this problem occurred after the KDE 3.4 install, any Ideas?

On another note, I remember when I used SuSE before I had the Login similar to this guys http://www.e2ga.org/imagenes/suse-face.jpg can anyone give me the steps to tweaking out the login in to look similar to that, also does anyone know any good graphic sites for SuSE art, I have found some sharp images all over the place nothing all in one place.

Thanks in advance!

To enable that kind of geeter in kdm, you need to uncomment the "Theme" part in the [X-*-Greeter] section of your kdm config file (kdmrc). On Slack its in /opt/kde/share/config/kdm/kdmrc and I am sure on Suse its in a similar place but with a slightly different KDE path.

Thank you both, anyone other SuSE GUI gurus have some more input or advice, I have been looking more into it and cannot figure out what the problem it.

When you change the background and apply it, it should work correct?

Red, yeah I cannot remember what I did last time, I know it was fairly easy, I remember changing the x/y of the login box and then swapping the background, and enabling some type of transparency or theme. I just can't remember.

you may want to check the rest of the post to see what other issues you may have and already have a fix for.

Add the line UseTheme=true, just before Theme=/opt/kde3/share/apps/kdm/themes/Kyuss in your [X-*-Greeter] section.

Hi,

This looks extremely helpful, as I've been trying to get the stupid login theme to work for a couple days now. But is there no way to do this through the KDE Control Center, or even through YaST?

I've thought maybe it would've been Desktop/Display Manager/DISPLAYMANAGER_KDM_THEME, but it didn't do anything.

Thanks,
Matt
