KDE 3.1.4 and SuSE 9.0
 
Any idea as to why two Konsoles automatically launch when I startx KDE from the command line? Konsole #1 starts out in my home dir, and Konsole #2 starts out in /usr/local/etc.

Open the Control center from the KMenu then select KDE Components and then Session Manager. Click Start With an empty session. Should solve your problem
