Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

Yesterday at work I installed SuSE Linux 10.0 (OpenSuSE) and the Apache2 server along with it.
Worked like a dream, and I was getting some good work done with PHP.
Then last night I got online and updated my computer while I slept.
Woke up today and Apache2 won't work anymore!
It's supposed to start at boot and it isn't. So I went into YaST to fix it and I still can't get it to boot!
Anyone have any idea why?
There's apparently some kind of problem with modules...
I tried starting it manually (su root, then /usr/sbin/apache2ctl start) and it listed off 12 lines of LoadModule: command not fount and then the final line consisting of about seven or eight rows of complete gibberish.
I believe what might have happened is that the system updated Apache2 while Apache2 was running, which might have messed things up. That, or the system updated a corrupted version.
In either case, what should I do?? My job relies on website design, and I'm stuck without Apache! (And I'd rather not install xampp on my windows box... prefer to stick to a REAL OS.)
