Java Update - Dependency Problem

Hey all,

I've been using SuSE 10 for a while now, no real problems, until the latest Java Update to version 1.4.2.10-2.1

I used the online update in YaST to update from 1.4.2.06-5 (which is packaged on the SuSE 10.0 DVD) and it updated fine. However, when I go into Software Management in YaST, I get the following dependency warnings:

Quote:

#### YaST2 conflicts list END ###
This seems a bit of a circular problem, can someone explain whats conflicting where, and is it safe to ignore these problems [and risk system inconsistencies]?

Cheers

You would have to upgrade the following applications to the same version:

java-1_4_2-sun-src requires java-1.4.2-sun = 1.4.2.06-5
java-1_4_2-sun-demo requires java-1.4.2-sun = 1.4.2.06-5
java-1_4_2-sun-devel requires java-1.4.2-sun = 1.4.2.06-5
java-1_4_2-sun-jdbc requires java-1.4.2-sun = 1.4.2.06-5
java-1_4_2-sun-plugin requires java-1.4.2-sun = 1.4.2.06-5

You can't just have one piece of the Java on a newer version.. basiclly that is all it is telling you.

They all were updated to the same version, apart from java-1_4_2-sun-src, which I have removed and dependencies are now fine.

Thank you - problem solved - until I need the java source package.
