There are quit a lot to choose from. To find out about gnome, go to gnome.org. ICEWM is the other window manager you mentioned. Another good one is xfce. There are also small window managers such as Fluxbox, enlightenment, blackbox etc.

hello!
I personally dislike KDE! Too cold. Gnome DE is cozy, warm and homy. Also you could try Fluxbox. Very fast and beautiful

go here http://xwinman.org/ to find out about other WM and DE.

You can install it using YAST.

xfce and kde

I installed xfce with Yast but now have it and KDE both running - two taskbars, etc. Where is the setting to change to one or the other?

SlackerLX 08-20-2005 12:36 AM

logout kde, login with any other DE
