is suse safe enough to explore
 
Hi:
I explore the internet with the suse linux 10.1, but i am wandering is the suse safe enough since i have not install any antivirus software or firewall!
Does you know some popular free antivirus software !

Yes. It is safe.
SuSE 10.1 has an integrated firewall (Yast/Security/Firewall), so your internal services are protected from internet.

And about anti-virus, well, looks like there is no consensus, or at least a hard position about this.

Some people says that is safe because there is no virus for linux, and that conceptual virus are harmless, just a proof-of-concept. Others say that even a aggressive linux virus may be designed, its damage is limited to the user's permissions/access mode.

You are using a moderm linux distribution, what is nice. Keep your system updated and you will be fine.
