iPod vs Printer

I recently changed the EFI option in my kernel to get my iPod to work - and work it did (great actually). Then I tried to connect my HP 2410 Photosmart printer (via USB - which the iPod is also USB) - now the iPod isn't working.

Not sure what to do to correct the issue - can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

Could you specify what "now the iPod isn't working" means? Is it not recognized or not properly mounted? Have a look at the output of dmesg after attaching the iPOD. What error message do you get? Does the iPOD work again, when you unplug the printer?

The iPod was working great - then I plugged the printer in and went to the Printing Manager utility to add the printer. I assigned it to USB1 - after that that iPod stopped working.

I'm sure there's a way to correct this error, but I don't know how.

I tried plugging the iPod into other USB ports, but it still doesn't work. When I pull up the Printing Manager it has all the USB ports assigned to "Printers." Sinse the iPod isn't a printer - I'm sure that's the problem. But, how to return the USB settings back to what they were before I tried to install the printer is something I'm not sure how to do.

I guess you are right, however I have no idea either. Have a look in /etc/hotplug for recently modified files. Maybe you'll find the one that has messed up the iPOD access.
