Install network Brother Printer
Hi,
complete linux novice here !! I have installed linux and have everything running except my networked Brother Printer. ( Seeing files on other pc's will be another post !!) I can ping my printer so I know linux sees it. Is there a guide to the steps needed to install a network printer on SUSE 10? I am using a brother HL-1270n which is a network printer. Any help appreciated. Thanks |

Hi.
Try this: (click on links for pictures) 1) start YaST, select 'Printer', click 'Add' 2) Select 'Print Directly to a Network Printer' 3) Select 'Direct TCP Port Printing' 4) Enter the ip-adress or the hostname of your network printer hopefully it works... For basics on (network)printing with, you could visit: http://www-uxsup.csx.cam.ac.uk/pub/doc/suse/suse9.0/adminguide-9.0/node10.html#SECTION034104000000000000000 |
