I feel sorry for anyone still using Fedora (help with KDE)
I've been 'stuck' on Fedora for over a year now, before I finally grew a brain and decided to venture out into the world of mature Linux distros.
I could go on, but i'll stop there. Having said that, there is one thing (actually two if I include XMMS not working right) I liked about it that I can't seem to find a solution for on SUSE. I can't find a way to change the way the mouse responds to, folders, etc, to mouse clicks. In Fedora (KDE is being used for both distros people) in addition to the KDE control center, there was also a Desktop Wizard which would allow you to change your scheme to the microsoft scheme (double clicks opens folder and files, basically). I CAN'T STAND THIS SINGEL CLICK POOP! It reminds of when I was a PC tech and had to service office workers with their Win95 and bonzibuddy! Scary!!!! ;-) Anyway, help would be much appreciated, if such a utility exists in SUSE 10.0. |
K Menu > Control Center > Peripherals > Mouse
Alter "Single click ..." to "Double click ..." |
Oh, man, thank yoiu sooo much. Clearly I never looked under peripherals because you'd (or I would) think that printers/scanners and such would be under there.
Okay, now I'm going to go full fledge on my SUSE Crusades (it's int he book of revelations) to rid the world of Fedoraism! ;-) |
No problem. It doesn't seem very intuitive to me either, but I just chalk it up to having learned bad habits. I didn't like the single-click thing either at first -- and still don't in some apps -- so this was one of the first things I changed.
It took me awhile to find it, but it's burned into my memory now. :-) |
mikeghet, Exactly what problems are you having with xmms, maybe we canhelp you out on that one too.
Btw, I am with you both, I hate that single click opens, I like selecting stuff with single, opening with double. I hate right clicking just to select and delete files...talk about aggrevating. |
