Ok, I have an Acer 5520G laptop with NVidia hardware on it (Geforce 8200 and I think it also has an Nvidia Ethernet?? Can't be sure, because the damn manual is useless). I tried to set up a DSL connection and kinda did, and it says that I'm connected to a wired network.
But Firefox can't open anything. It's like I'm not connected. I really don't know what to do?
Any Help? Please??
You don't enter the # when executing the commands. In Linux/Unix, when commands are shown with a #, it means they need to be run as root and a $ means you run them as a normal user (the # and $ represent shell prompts). Enter the command "ifconfig -a" as root or as a normal user enter "/sbin/ifconfig -a"
I had to format the whole thing and put Windows XP on it. But I'll try installing Suse or Debian again this week. I hope I can count on your help, I really apreciate the fast response time that you guys have. Thanks and I'm sorry I din'0t give you the information you required. Maybe later this week huh?
