I'm a SUSE newbie, fresh from Debian-based distros. A quick question...

I've been using Debian-based distros for as long as I have been using Linux, and have become accustomed to the way they work. Now I'm on SUSE I'm a bit lost.

Is there a SUSE equivalent to APT? If there is, how do I use it?

You can install apt to SuSE:

http://linux01.gwdg.de/apt4rpm/

However, YaST can be configured to work the exactly same way:

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...postid=1087289

if you would ask me which I would recommend... I'd answer YaST. It's native and I've had bad experiences with apt in SuSE (and even Debian actually...), but then again, it's up to you

Regards!
